I just found out from my friend living in Beijing, that there was an Apple store opening there, and it was really huge. It just blows the Sydney store out of proportion. Although this was a risky venture for Apple, they may still gain more revenue from the sale of iPods and the largely awaited iPhone. What’s ironic is that the iPhone deal hasn’t even been sealed yet.
Would an Apple Store in Singapore be feasible? There are rumors that there is going to be one at ION ORCHARD, an upcoming shopping palace just next to Wheelock Place. However, this would ruin EpiCentre’s sales as people would rather go for official things as opposed to resellers.
So where would it be? VivoCity, Or in the much awaited Integrated Resort perhaps? Maybe the government thinks it would spoil the look. But hey, isn’t Singapore made out of glass?
